Emily Nelson
MedXplore President
Emily Nelson is a senior Biomedical Engineer at Texas A&M University. She is fascinated with aerospace medicine and the human immune system. She currently works in a research lab studying the co-culture of immune cells and breast cancer cells. Her research interests include internal medicine, cardiology, and orthopedics. In her free time, Emily enjoys traveling, backpacking, rock climbing, reading, watching movies, and playing board games with her friends and family

Adam Miri
MedXplore Vice President
Adam Miri received his B.S. and is currently working toward his M.Eng. in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University. His work focuses on cardiovascular medical device design, physiological monitoring, and translational clinical technologies. His research interests include cardiac support systems, device miniaturization and optimization, and the development of next-generation cardiovascular devices for clinical applications.

Reid Miles
Financial Lead
Reid Miles received his B.S. in biomedical engineering and is a current M.S. in Medical Sciences student at the Naresh K. Vashisht College of Medicine at Texas A&M University. An emergency medical technician with research experience in cancer mechanobiology, machine learning-assisted pathology, and genetic analysis, he is passionate about how medical technology innovation can improve the quality of patient care. Beyond the classroom, he volunteers as a hospice helper and tutors students in math and physics. In his free time, he enjoys riding his motorcycle and skydiving.

Ananya Bhawsinka
Business Strategy Lead
Ananya Bhawsinka is a junior biomedical engineering student with a minor in Philosophy at Texas A&M University. With research experience in biomaterials for regenerative medicine and medical device development, Ananya is passionate about building a career in healthcare innovation and is currently exploring start-up ventures. In her free time, she loves dancing, experimenting with new recipes, and diving into any competitive sport or activity – especially board games!

Alec Venegas
Co-Financial Lead
Alec Venegas is a junior Biomedical Engineer class of 2027 at Texas A&M. Alec is passionate about research in the field and works as an imaging specialist in the Cardiovascular Pathology Lab in college station, and he conducts his own research projects in the lab. Alec aims to continue to work in the research field using both his medical device experience and track in regenerative medicine. In his free time, Alec likes to play guitar, listen to music, read horror books, and train his pet bird Mango.

Aaliyah Fisher
Co-Financial Lead
Aaliyah Fisher is a senior in Biomedical Engineering at Texas A&M University, where she researches and builds custom radiofrequency coils for MRI systems. Her interests lie at the intersection of biomedical and electrical engineering, especially in circuit design for biosensors and medical devices. She plans to earn her Ph.D. and move directly into the bioelectronics industry after. When she’s not in the lab, Aaliyah enjoys creating visually striking art pieces and rock climbing with friends.
